Who We Are

Rainy Day Fund is a pilot program by Homeownership Council of America (HCA) in partnership with Fifth Third Bank, MGIC and generous donors. 


HCA's mission is to build more access to credit for America's underserved communities, including rural residents, people earning a lower income, women, and Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other minority populations.

The mission of Rainy Day Fund is to provide access to funds for life events and hardships which would cause a homeowner to make a choice between the mortgage payment and their emergency expense. Funded homeowners should stay current on their home while navigating through the event with the assistance of Rainy Day Fund and thanks to our generous donors.  

Rainy Day Fund is made available to specific groups, areas, and borrowers by donor discretion. HCA hosts funds while they remain available for those groups so that they can be accessed by anyone in that group with a qualifying life event or hardship. HCA requires a housing counseling session for the consumer as well as appropriate documentation to prove the need or hardship. 


Consumers / homeowners who have been invited should activate their link to the list to stay connected and may apply for assistance at anytime. Funding available on a first come first served basis and is not guaranteed for all members of any donor designated group.
